Project Shark - Basis team project scope

Project Goal 1: Produce an automatic tool or procedure for System Copy. Also research on data scrambling tools

We understand most of the companies are using a manual method for systm copy, which means, every time when a production system is copied to QA/Pre-Prod systems, it takes significant long time to finish manual processing such as BDLS, RFC reconfiguration, ALE reconfiguration, etc. Overall a 2TB SAP system will require minimum 3 days to a week to complete the refresh.

In the current market there have been several 3rd party tools that claims they can do automatic system refresh which is done by batch jobs overnight. Also these products claim they can do module based system copy, such as, customers can choose to refresh their Finance data only, meanwhile all other modules will remain as is. For further requirements, customers can also choose to do data scrambling during the system copy process, to protect those 'sensitive' information such as bank information, personal ID, etc.

Project Goal 2: Help FICO team to build an ECC6 EHP7 on HANA system, then migrate to S4 1503

Why 1503 but not 1511 or 16xx? Since the customer would like to upgrade their Finance module only, meanwhile the logistics, HR etc remain as is.

To be able to finish a Basis mock project, we'll start from ECC6 EHP7 on Oracle, then migrate to EHP7 on HANA, then finally to S4 1503. This approach mimic most of the companies' requirement.
