Typically, customers are running a 2TB database on, let say, oracle on AIX. To be able to migrate to the ehp7 on hana, what's the hardware recommendation?

Please provide a proposal regarding major server brands such as Lenovo, HP, Dell etc

Need the information including detailed configuration, pricing

SAP provided an ABAP program /SDF/HDB_SIZING to generate a sizing report for the existing system, such as ECC6 EHP7, and giving proposed information for the targeted system like Suite on HANA, S/4 SFIN,etc.

To be able to run this report, we'll have to apply a couple of SAP notes, then execute the ABAP program.

However, what I have found is, by default settings the ABAP program runs for ever, which seems to analyze all the tables within the SAP systems(for example, in EHP7 there are more than 600,000 tables), and for each table it'll do some sampling. This is easy to understand, since the for each customer its database varies, such as Oracle, SQL Server or DB2, all these databases have different computing on data files, blocks, high watermarks, those sort of things.

As an example, we choose minimum 10,000 sampling which I think it's for each table, the maximum records samples. However it still runs more than 1 hour without returning anything. To be able to see the sample of the report, I'll have to terminate the ABAP program, and key in a specific table, for example, the tiny table USR02. This time the report is OK and give us some information.

Conclusion: This ABAP utility is too 'German over-engineering' which in another word: "useless"
