This is the guideline for installation and configuration of SAP IDM 8.0 with latest patch

First download the installation guide from SAP

Install Identity Management Core, which we'll use Oracle as backend database. Please note that currently SAP does not even have HANA as an option for IDM

Use SAPCAR to extract the latest patch, in this case ICCORExxx.SAR

Go to DatabaseSchema/Oracle, look at the include.sql, note that it needs the tablespace USERS

Create the USERS and TEMP tablespaces

Run the script mxmc-install.sh

Run the test script to confirm the installation is successful

Installing SAP Identity Management Runtime Components

Here you have to use SAPJVM, further more, you cannot choose the latest patch, otherwise errors show below:

Checked out SAP note 2402501, when you install IDM 8.0 on windows 2012, make sure SAPJVM 6.1 patch version is 72 or lower!

To install, download SAPJVM6_72, then use SAPCAR to extract. Finally define your JAVA_HOME and PATH variable

Now it's ready for install the run time

Now we generate the Keys.ini file. The key generation utility comes with the core component installation media.

If the key file already exists, you can also create additional keys by the Keys Utility GUI

Now copy the Keys.ini to the Runtime (Windows 2012) folder

Now setup Dispatcher utility

Create and start the IDM dispatcher

Deploy the SAP Identity Management Developer Studio service on your SAP NetWeaver AS for Java

Extract the SAR file

Now use SUM to deploy this SCA file. The latest SUM is using SAP host control port 1128/1129
