Normally newer SAP products will require MOPZ or the recent Maintenance Planner on Solution Manager to collect the patch. The reason, obviously, is for the convenience of calculating the stack, also for integrity of components patch levels

Project Shark - phase 1 - step8 - OS/DB migration from EHP8/SQL Server/Win2012 to EHP8 on HANA/Linux

Export, run sapinst from SWPM on Win2012

During Export steps, it'll ask for target Database type, we'll choose HANA

Export files structure. It's different than Installation package.

Import, run sapinst from SWPM on Linux

OS/DB migration will require a key. As per SAP note 1134948 - ABAP Migration Key for special installation numbers

Select any InfoArea in Eclipse, right click and select New -> "Open ODS View"

Enter Name, Description, select below, and next,

First of all, in ADM100 there is a chapter talking about start/stop SAP instance

For the Win2012 / SQL server environment, instead of running commands like startsap/stopsap, there is an MMC console to perform the task as well

Sometimes you may find your VM has a wrong time/date.

In Win2012, you can do the following:

Run your Powershell as Administrator (right click, run as)

Apply for OS/DB migration key

For newer OS/DB migration, there is a new method DMO coming from SUM.

Please note that the migration key is binding with SID, platform and host names
