Normally newer SAP products will require MOPZ or the recent Maintenance Planner on Solution Manager to collect the patch. The reason, obviously, is for the convenience of calculating the stack, also for integrity of components patch levels

Export, run sapinst from SWPM on Win2012


During Export steps, it'll ask for target Database type, we'll choose HANA


Export files structure. It's different than Installation package.


Import, run sapinst from SWPM on Linux


OS/DB migration will require a key. As per SAP note 1134948 - ABAP Migration Key for special installation numbers

In this article it will provide a step-by-step guild on how to connect to an external HANA system from HANA studio. So that Project Shark HANADB on BW will connect to Project Clam HANA_SHR. Actually it has the ability to connect to all sort of data sources such as Oracle, SQL Server, Hadoop big data, etc as long as the client drivers are in place with the HANA DB server.
